Graduating or leaving school this summer? Looking for an adventure? Join us for an intern year.
If you love the outdoors, working with young people, and you want to grow in your faith, then this year could be for you!
Get trained and work as an activities instructor at Oakwood alongside a year of church based training at Foundation Church, Wokingham. You’ll learn how to lead a range of activities from high ropes and archery to mountain boarding and climbing whilst benefitting from a brilliant training course alongside church interns from around the U.K.
Training
Oakwood works throughout the year with
school groups, youth groups, churches,
and individuals to deliver climbing and
activity sessions that help people to push
their comfort zone, develop new skills
and learn more about themselves and
their peers.
During your year, as well as learning how
to lead sessions, you will gain industry
qualifications that you can use in the
future!
Church
Foundation is a Newfrontiers Church,
meeting at Oakwood, and the placement
with them is a key part of this intern year.
Through the church you will have
opportunity to serve and gain experience
in a range of ministries.
You will also join interns from churches
around the U.K. on the Commission intern
training year (click here for more info).
Costs?
As well as having a brilliant year, growing
in your faith, learning new skills and
gaining qualifications; you will actually
get paid!
As if that weren’t enough, all training
costs will be covered and Foundation
Church will provide a host family to
accomodate you for the year. There will
be a small cost for your accomodation
but you won’t be left out of pocket.
